The module Business Management from the University of Southampton covers different aspects of business including, retail, finance, manufacturing, charities, and the public sector.

What is covered in the course?

Through the module, the students were made to learn and think about the business aspects in a different way in order to make changes within the society or an organization. The module has been designed after including the aspects of history, social science, and economy in general. The writing enables the students to develop an interdisciplinary approach while making strategic decisions in their organizations. The purpose of understanding business management is to learn how to organize and manage the resources of the business including the human capital. It is people-centric learning where the emphasis is put on general management theories, human resource management, and communication.

What does this course provide?

The assignment develops many interpersonal skills in the students such as the ability to manage teams, the ability to form the vision and mission of the company, and the ability to work in collaboration.
The course has provided all the necessary skills and knowledge among the students through its theoretical as well as practical education.The module and its writing have prepared the students to develop careers and explore opportunities in various organizations such as social enterprises, start-ups, non-profit organizations, large corporations, etc. The degree drives change and initiatives among the students for the overall growth of business as well as society.

The module helped me to develop certain managerial skills in the field of administration, financing, marketing, sales, etc. the knowledge and skills required to pursue career opportunities globally were developed through the assignment and it also provided a broad understanding of different elements and areas of business. After completion of the module, many career opportunities can be availed by the students namely, business advisor, business analyst, data analyst, business development manager, etc.
